What's on in Melbourne Arts – Music, Theatre, Exhibitions, Festivals

It is hard to give justice to what's on in Melbourne arts, as it is too much to list here. A lot of it isn’t mainstream, but takes place in small performance venues.

Melbourne Arts EventI have listed major art events below, but also look for the numerable smaller events around town which give Melbourne its special flavour. To find out what’s on in Melbourne arts from day to day, please check the newspapers.

The Melbourne Arts Centre has a full program of theatre, music performances and ballet worth checking out. TheNational Gallery of Victoria has an Australian section in the Federation Square complex with a great section, among others, on Australian Impressionism. Its International gallery is located just down from the Arts Centre. Both are hosting various temporary and permanent exhibitions.

Directed by Mike Nichols and “lovingly ripped-off" from the screenplay of the Pythons’ best-loved film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Her Majesties Theatre. www.montypythonsspamalot.com.au
